What is Cycling Without Age?
Cycling Without Age is an amazing program that will allow elderly and less-able members of our community the opportunity to remain active in society despite limitations that may otherwise lead to a sedentary, sometimes lonely, lifestyle. Through Cycling Without Age, we will give these individuals the chance to experience our community and surroundings not through a window or from the sidelines but rather from a bicycle. In addition to the joy of having the wind blow through their hair, each passenger will have the chance to share his or her story as we wind through nature at a slow, comfortable pace. We will build bridges between generations and reinforce trust and respect in our society.

It's the freedom to ride with the wind in your hair - even if you're elderly or disabled. Cycling Without Age takes seniors on a bike ride they won't soon forget!
Collaboration with FCEG
In conjunction with FCEG, we are putting together a team of volunteers who are interested in sharing their time and cycling abilities with members of our local community who, for one reason or another, are no longer able to ride a bicycle. The mission of FCEG is to “promote, support, and improve cycling in Elk Grove”. This mission need not exclude any members of the community who love the freedom a bicycle provides.
Through Cycling Without Age, rides are provided to participants courtesy of a “trishaw” instead of a traditional bicycle. Up to two passengers can be taken on a ride at a time. The trishaw is piloted by volunteers trained to ride slowly in order to encourage active communication and optimal enjoyment of the surroundings. The roughly 8-mile, closed loop path around Busse Woods Forest Preserve provides the ideal location for these leisurely, beautiful rides.
There is absolutely no cost to individuals who wish to participate. Rides are given free of charge. All contributions will be put directly back into the program. Join us as we bring generations together and erase the perceived differences among us!

Cycling Without Age in Action!
Cycling Without Age is all about sharing kindness and generosity with those who are active in mind and spirit but may not be able to ride on their own.
