Event starts and ends at the Al Hattendorf Center (225 E. Elk Grove Blvd in Elk Grove Village)
6:10pm – 6:30pm: Waivers and bike checks
6:30pm – 6:40pm: RoS proclamation and safety discussion
6:40pm – 8:00pm: Ride of Silence (10 miles)
8:00pm – 8:30pm: Clean up

Ride of Silence Goals

• To honor those who have been injured or killed while cycling
• To raise awareness that cyclists are on the road too
• To ask that we all share the road

Details

  • We will be adhering to the latest public health guidelines during this event.
  • The RoS is recommended for ages 10 and up as we need to keep the group together for maximum visibility.
  • We will ride in silent procession at 10mph from the Hattendorf Center, to the new bridge at Busse, and back.
  • We'll be riding no more than 2-up to allow motorists space to safely pass the group.
  • Helmets are strongly encouraged for all participants.
  • Lights will add to the effect, so if you have bike lights, plan on using them during the ride.
  • We'll be following the Rules of the Road (stopping at stop lights and at stop signs when cross traffic is present).
